In pre- or post-COVID society, the weekend of September 24-26th 2020 would have been the dates for Bonnaroo’s rescheduled music festival. Unfortunately, Bonnaroo was forced to cancel the event. In place of the cancellation, the music festival announced it would instead be holding a virtual three-day live stream event on the same dates in its place.
“Virtual ROO-ALITY” will include a wide range of performaces to entertain viewers, including a replaying of vintage performances from past Bonnaroos, several special live-stream appearances from popular musical artists, and new live music performances from other popular musicians.
Some of the archived performances included featured at the event will be performances by Alabama Shakes (2015), Beastie Boys (2009), Dave Matthews and Friends (2004), Jack White (2014), James Brown (2003), and My Morning Jacket (2011).
In addition to the streaming of the archived performances, the event will also showcase special performances from a wide variety of artists across many different genres of music. The lineup includes electronic group Big Gigantic, folk and Americana singer Billy Strings, alternative band Moon Taxi, legendary jam band Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, and others.
Virtual ROO-ALITY will stream exclusively on YouTube and will be available to view online starting September 24th at 4:30 PM Central Time. The event will continue throughout the weekend until the evening of the 26th and is free to all viewers.
