Papadosio, a band from Asheville, NC with a unique sound, will play at The Signal on April 25.
The band refers to its genre as “space rock,” a conglomeration of rock, jazz and techno, a description one would deem accurate upon the briefest listen to any of the band’s songs. About its genre, the band further elaborates that “this range of frequencies is where Papadosio tends to spend their time, sometimes dining in deep space, and other times snacking right on your front porch.”
The band is a five-piece, consisting of guitarist/lead vocalist Anthony Thogmartin, bassist/backing vocalist Rob McConnell, drummer Mike Healy and two keyboardists/backing vocalists Sam and Billy Brouse.
Since its formation on April 6, 2006, Papadosio has released seven studio albums, most of which have interesting names such as “To End the Illusion of Separation” and “Extras in a Movie.”
The upcoming April 25 show at The Signal will be the first in Papadosio’s spring tour with Aqueous, a groove-rock opening act that will start playing when the doors open at 7 p.m.
The event is open to all ages. Admission starts at $32.00 a ticket, and Papadosio will start playing at 8 p.m.
