Finley Stadium will soon be getting a new video board following a vote from the Board of Directors.

The new board cost $600,000, with the cost being split between the city of Chattanooga and Hamilton County. The board will be ready for use for the 2018 UTC football and soccer seasons. According to Stadium Corp. Chairman Gordon Davenport, the board will be ready by August.

The new board will be built by Daktronics, who were the makers of the previous board. They will install the new board using the scoreboard structure that is already in place. There was competition from two other vendors, but Daktronics was able to maintain their place on the board.

The new board will be sized 24 feet high by 70 feet wide.

In addition to use by the UTC football and soccer teams, the new video board is a welcome addition for Chattanooga Football Club. Sean McDaniel, the executive director at Chattanooga Football Club, noted that the upgrades
to the stadium have been a positive in attracting higher numbers of fans and teams. The Chattahooligans will be one of the many fan bases to enjoy the new video board at Finley.
