Drew and Ellie Holcomb’s Moon River Music Festival has released its lineup for the festival’s third annual event that will be held at Coolidge Park in Chattanooga. The event is scheduled for September 12th and 13th and the lineup includes a variety of different genres of music such as rock, bluegrass, folk and gospel.

Headlining the two-day festival are music legends Sheryl Crow and Nickel Creek. The festival organizer and curator Drew Holcomb will also be performing with his band Drew Holcomb and The Neighbors. Other acts performing include Billy Strings, Ben Rector, Dawes, Indigo Girls, Shovels and Rope, and many more.

This will be the sixth year of Moon River Music Festival. Three years ago the festival moved its location from Memphis to Chattanooga. In 2018, the first year the festival took place in Chattanooga, tickets sold out in under eight hours. In 2019, tickets sold out once again in under a day. Given these results, there really is no question on whether or not this festival has found its home in Chattanooga.

“I attended Moon River both in 2018 and in 2019,” said Samuel Carson, a resident of Chattanooga. “I had a great time both years and I think it’s great that Chattanooga hosts this festival. In my opinion, it really puts Chattanooga’s long running festival Riverbend to shame. It just goes to show that if you give the people a lineup that they want, the tickets will sell. I can’t wait to come back in 2020 and see how they have improved the festival.”

Moon River hosts a wide range of local businesses as its vendors and has helped Chattanooga’s local economy. Moon River has also drawn in many tourists, as attendees travel from different areas from around the country to attend the festival.

According to a JamBase article written by Scott Bernstein, Chattanooga city Mayor Andy Berke is also a supporter of Moon River Festival. “In just a few short years, Moon River Festival has become one of the most eagerly anticipated annual events in our community,” Berke said in a statement. “I’m thrilled that they will continue to call Chattanooga home, and I look forward to working with Drew and Ellie Holcomb to make the festival even bigger and better in the years to come.”

Moon River’s tickets are currently on sale. General Admission tickets start at $150, and VIP options start at $450 and can be purchased on the festival’s website.
