After a long day of Black Friday shopping, local businesses invite Chattanoogans to kick off the season at Holiday Cheer at the Pier at Ross’ Landing Nov. 24 from 5-9 p.m.
Weekly Fig, Erwin Marine and The Southern Belle have joined forces to host a free holiday celebration for the Chattanooga community. Each business is contributing a special element to the night, creating an event that appeals to all senses.
If patrons are looking for something warm to eat, they may stop by one of the many food trucks recruited by Weekly Fig, including Chatterbox BBQ, Sifted Joy Bakery, Real Roots Cafe and more. Weekly Fig will also sell its local and artisan goods at the event.
Meanwhile, folks can browse the vendor booths from small businesses like Foggin Woodworks, Crafty Chicks and Dixie Does Farm to pick up handmade gifts for loved ones as Christmas music plays throughout Ross’ Landing.
Keeping with the holiday theme, Santa will be dropping in to take pictures with kids of all ages. The freshness of Wheeler’s Christmas Tree Farm trees will fill the air as families search for the perfect tree for their home, and Faces by Deb will be transforming young and old with festive face paints.
At 7 p.m., over 40 decorated boats will take a trip from Olgiati Bridge around Walnut Street Bridge, led by Marty Puryear of Erwin Marine Riverfront.
Presented by The Southern Belle and The 3rd Deck Burger Bar, the grande finale of the night will be a magnificent fireworks display, which can be easily viewed at the burger bar at Pier 2.
This magical launch into the holiday season has been bringing members of the Chattanooga community together for “thirty-seven years, under one name or another,” said Weekly Fig co-founder, Nate Wilson.
Locals are dedicated to this annual event, even after Thanksgiving dinner and tiresome Black Friday Shopping.
“By 5 pm,” said Wilson, “people will be ready to relax and welcome the season properly.”
Holiday Cheer at the Pier allows the community to come together to celebrate the beginning of the most wonderful time of the year. Those who attend may also register a raffle to win a gift box worth $100.
