I am greatly pleased to introduce to you the lovechild of Sporty Spice and Azealia Banks, Natalie M.F. Powers.

There are few words to describe just how much I love this outfit, none of which are appropriate to print.

She looks like we pulled her right off the streets of Harlem during the glory days of the 80s.

So shout out to all my freaks, all my button pushers and line crossers, the trailblazers who made it possible for us to funk up the world. Spice up your life!

Natalie is a prime example of the kind of trailblazer I’m talking about. My mother would look at this and say, “I hope she doesn’t plan on leaving the house dressed like that.”

I look at this and say, “I hope she doesn’t plan on leaving the house in anything else.”

This is what we need, my friends. More people like Natalie who are not afraid to be loud and go against the grain.

If you pay attention to your surroundings at all, you will see that many of the people floating around are carbon copies of the next. I just don’t see the fun in that.

A lot of people would argue that fitting in is hard. I would argue back that is just not the case. It’s easy to fit it. You just have to observe.

What are the masses wearing? What music are they listening to? Where do they like to hang out? Those are easy questions to answer.

Fitting in is easy. We are all great at faking it and we all know it. Being different is hard. Being different takes real courage. In fact, it’s one of the hardest things you will ever do. But do it.

Our society was built by the rule breakers and we progress because people think different.  Different is in, my friends. It is the trend that never fades.

I was recently given some great advice that I would like to share with you. You are your own brand. Everything that you do, say or wear is how you are branding yourself to the world.

I do not know about you but I would like to be a brand that’s unlike anything they have ever seen. You get one shot to be the best you that you can be and you should take it because the world will never know another you. Word to your mothers.
