The Mocs finished the game before the last inning began as Chattanooga knocked off UAB 3-1 on Wednesday night at Frost Stadium.

Both teams were held scoreless for the first three and a half innings before the Mocs got on the board.

UTC took the lead in the fourth inning after Ashley Conner, Dalton, Georgia, started the inning with a double and moved to third after a single from Brook Womack, Chattanooga. Emma Sturdivant, Orange, California, managed to make the bases loaded with no outs in the bottom of the fourth.

Katie Corum, Knoxville, hit a single to send Conner home and give the Mocs the lead, then Morgan Kazerooni, Kennesaw, Georgia, hit a single to send Womack home to extend the lead.

The Blazers answered in the top of the following inning with one run of their own.

The Mocs added a run in the bottom of the fifth and that was all she wrote. Alyssa Coppinger, Whitwell, Tennessee, beat a throw to the plate on an attempted bunt from Sturdivant to take a 3-1 lead.

After that, starting pitcher Celie Hudson, Paris, Tennessee, picked up her third-straight win in the circle. She played the whole game, only allowing three hits and no runs while striking out three.

After this win, the Mocs have won six of seven and improve to 20-22 in the season. UAB fell to 15-26-1.
