The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Men’s Tennis Team split the double header weekend by beating Young Harris University and losing to Lipscomb University.
Both matches of the weekend took place in Chattanooga at McCallie’s Strang-Voges Tennis Center on Saturday.
The Mocs dropped the first match playing Lipscomb University by losing to the undefeated Lipscomb team with a final score of 4-3. In the second match the mocs shut out Young Harris University by a final score of 7-0 in the final match on Saturday.
Chattanooga’s eight game winning streak was snapped when they faced off in the first match against Lipscomb University. Also, the Mocs moved to 9-2 overall in the 2020 spring portion of the season.
In the doubles matches against Lipscomb, UTC only won one of the three doubles matches while Lipscomb took the other two doubles matches. In the singles matches Chattanooga only won a total of three singles matches while Lipscomb University took the other three singles matches.
In the doubles matches against Young Harrison University the Mocs took the two of the three singles matches while Young Harrison University only won one doubles match. In the singles match, Chattanooga clean swept all of the six singles matches and put up a shutout against Young Harrison University with a final score of 7-0.
Next up for the Men’s Chattanooga’s Tennis Team they get to face off against The Citadel on February 21, for their Southern Conference Opener at the UTC Tennis Center.
