By Eleanor Angel, Chattanooga, TN– Looking for a fun night close to campus? River City Company is putting on an event on Sept. 7, 21 and 28 at Center Park that will include live music and a movie.
Center Park is located at 728 Market St. and has been the host of the local food trucks as well as other fun events.
Movies at Center Park, formerly known as Movies at the 700 block, will be returning under the name of Movies, Music and Fun at Center Park.
One thing that is different is there will be local bands that play before the screening of the movies.
Movies playing include “The Sandlot,” “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” and “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.”
This particular event will have food trucks, beer and wine for those who are of age. Food trucks include Local Slice, Southern Burger Company, Rusty’s Nutz, Famous Naters and King of Pops. There will be a charge for food, but all entertainment is free.
Amy Donahue, communication specialist at River City Company, said, “It’s a very good date night.”
“It’s an easy walk from campus and everything is free,” Donahue said.
Donahue recommends bringing a blanket or some sort of camping chair to sit in. She said last year, they even had someone bring a couch. So if that’s your style, bring a couch.
Those attending the event should sign up ahead of time online at http://moviesatcenterpark.eventbrite.com/ so they will have an estimate of how many people will be there.
“River City Company is so excited to turn Center Park into a movie theater once again,” Tiffanie Robinson, director of creative strategies for River City Company, said in a press release. “It’s a chance for us to bring people to City Center, show them some of the cool things that are happening here and have fun while we are doing it.”
So grab a friend, boyfriend, girlfriend, or that person you think is kind of cute but you’re afraid to talk to and head on down to Movies, Music and Fun at Center Park.
