Ashley Garcia, Chattanooga, Tenn. – Ice on the Landing is back for the second year as Chattanooga Presents teams up with Volkswagen to offer a chance to skate on ice.
The outdoor ice rink will be open everyday from Nov. 20 through Jan. 18 on Ross’s Landing on the Riverfront.
The rink will be expanded to 60 feet by 100 feet to accommodate more visitors.
“We were thrilled with the overwhelmingly positive response to Ice on the Landing last year and knew immediately that we would work toward bringing a larger rink back to the community this year,” said Carla Pritchard, owner of Chattanooga Presents in a press release.
During this time, there will be special themes and events, music and promotions, appearances by Santa and other characters and specific nights to benefit charity groups.
New offerings include a season pass for frequent visitors, gift cards available for purchase, and a basic skills course during two four-week sessions Saturday and Monday mornings before the rink opens.
Tickets cost $10 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under and includes skate rentals and two hours on the rink.
Visitors can stay warm by the three fire pits, with vendors serving hot chocolate and snacks.
