Center Park presents Saturday movie nights

Amber Latham, Chattanooga, Tenn., – River City Company will show free movies for all ages at Center Park, 728 Market St., for the last three Saturdays in September.“Enjoying a free movie underneath the stars with friends, family and other Chattanoogans is a great way to spend a Saturday night downtown,” Paige Southard, program manager for River City Company, said. “This movie series allows us to showcase and animate City Center while simultaneously creating something our community realmovies at center park 2ly enjoys.”

The first night, being viewer’s choice, will be “The Breakfast Club.”

The following Saturday is “Family Fun Night,” and will show the family-friendly movie, “Finding Nemo.” Lastly, “Ghostbusters,” marking its 30-year anniversary, will be the grand finale to the screenings.

Snacks, beer and wine will be available for purchase at 7 p.m. There will also be family-fun entertainment before the movie starts.
The event is set to attract both long-time residents and new Chattanoogans.

“Free movies downtown is something that will definitely bring the community together,” Christopher Gaither, a sophomore from Chattanooga, said.
“I think this is a great idea to get both college students and Chattanooga residents to experience the city together,” Rachel Leonard, a sophomore from Kingston Springs, Tenn., said.

Blankets and lawn chairs are  encouraged for attendees.
