Leah Kiernozek, Chattanooga, Tenn. — It is the time of the year college students dread the most: finals are here.
Throughout the week, students will be doing everything they can to finish out the year. Some can be found zombie-walking across campus, too tired to speak to anyone. Others might be nodding off or sleeping through classes because they previously pulled an all-nighter.
Then you have students cracked out on caffeine due to excessive coffee drinking.
For some, this might be the first time all year that they have ever set foot into the library, which is more than likely overly crowded with colleagues who have an A+ in distracting others.
Coming from Miss Stressed-Out herself, I want to encourage all students to look at the bright side of things this week. Take a step back and look at everything you have accomplished this semester. Think about all the decisions you have made (both good and bad) and the lessons you have learned.
Think about all of the challenges you have overcome and all of the goals you have accomplished. When the time comes this week when you feel completely overwhelmed with everything going on, take a step back and give yourself a moment to breathe.
Be grateful for where you are in this very moment. Think about all of the amazing things that lie ahead and embrace the opportunities you have already experienced.
